3 Quick Apply Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description The Product Manager, working closely with the General Manager, Global Cable Fault Product Category Manager, other members of Business Management, Product Management and Engineering, has responsibility for growth and profitability of assigned products within the Cable Fault Locating product category.
A Product Category associated with portable and/or on-line test instruments and/or systems used within the Electricity Generation & Transmission Industry, Energy Sector.
This role has full exposure and responsibility for the entire product life cycle including but not limited to:
market trend analysis, product portfolio management (product offering gaps, product profitability & competitive response), new product ideation, product market competitive positioning (price & feature), functional feature/application specification, product development guidance, product acceptance to defined requirements, product launch, Sales Channel support, strategic & tactical MarCom execution, Customer Care system oversight, product sustaining & end of life management (EOL).
Essential Job Responsibilities Knowledgeable, expected growth to Expert level, product advocate within the Energy Sector Product Category of Cable Fault Locating.
Voice of Customer Consolidator, ensuring the needs of customer are met by product portfolio.
Assessment of Energy Sector markets for technologies and social trends that may affect market viability of Megger test instruments.
Understand Megger corporate strategic competitive advantages and work to develop products and associated Sales & Marketing strategies that support/compliment these advantages.
Work with other Product Management, Sales, and MarCom personnel to continually refine the view of the competitive market and Meggers product market positioning.
Participate and/or Lead virtual sales demonstrations and/or webinars.
Integrate research, market studies and market analysis and voice of the customer into product portfolio roadmaps and development requirements.
Write Product Requirements Documents that define necessary products and product strategies to be realized, sold, and supported by Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Service, Technical Support and Sales teams.
Review and evaluate product line profitability and sales performance on a continual basis.
Meet regularly with Development teams.
Participate in realization trade-off decisions, considering Time to Market, Recurring and Non-Recurring Costs, and Product Quality impacts of decisions.
Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies BA/BS graduate in technical field of study, with strong academic record.
Alternative professional education can be substituted assuming previous product management experience with electronic test instruments in the Energy Sector.
Electrical Engineering degrees preferred.
Advanced degrees, a differentiator.
Knowledge/Experience with business administration, a differentiator.

years of work experience within the Energy Sector.
Test Instruments Product Management, a differentiator.
Demonstrated expertise using test instruments related to Cable Fault Location within electricity delivery cable infrastructures required.
Knowledge/Experience in product design realization, focused on end user experience, intuitive setup & execution of test applications.
Familiarity with human-computer ergonomics, knowledge of DIN EN ISO 9241 a differentiator.
Knowledge of sales strategy and tactics, in support of developing clear tactics to drive product sales success.
Familiarity and interest in social media, and technologies that shape our lives.
Must be proficient in Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Advanced presentation skills.
Comfortable presenting in-person, to large professional audiences and small test instrument user teams.
Familiarity/Comfort presenting materials using on-line presentation tools.
Attention to detail mentality and appreciation of project budgets and deadlines is essential.
Excellent Communication Skills, willingness drive project executions involving cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated English fluency.
Strong desire for German fluency.
Other languages, a differentiator Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to multiplex across a variety of project assignments.
High Degree of Attention to Detail.
