This role is for a technically savvy strategic thinker with ambition to become an 'interface' between sales, customer, back-office, production, service, product management and R&D.
Our client in the energy sector (electrical testing and instrumentation), is currently hiring an Applications Engineer to Support Sales Team.
This person will manage and support relationships with existing customers by guiding through product set up questions, and also, nurturing client relationships through engagement activities.
Vision for this role- for client to have a key person on staff to ensure their Customer Service is the best in the industry.
Our hiring team does not want existing customers to call into a call center if they have a question, or, need to place a new order, they want them to have a direct line to a highly skilled technical person they have a relationship with- in this role you would be that person.
Essential Job ResponsibilitiesProviding technical support for Water Conservation Products throughout North and Central America.
She/he will be responsible for supporting existing customers, new customers, distributors, manufacturing reps, customer service, and regional sales managers.
Field and internal support for lines of Water Conservation Products (She/he will be trained on the products and can consult with Sales Director to obtain the correct to get back to the customer)She/he will be groomed to support the launch of new products in the region and also train Distributor/Rep salespeople.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Distributor Products.
Travel in the USA supporting Megger's regional sales managers, distributors and reps (up to 30% travel).
When traveling 100% in office settings (Valley Forge).
Provide first-level product training to end users and distributors.
Perform follow-ups as required with prospective customers and distributors.
Assist in arranging/running regional product/application seminars as applicable (on-site Valley Forge or via Teams, Zoom).
Provide feedback to the factories on new product ideas and/or modifications or extensions to current products based on customer feedback.
Handle in-coming application-related calls from customers and prospective customers.
Provide summary reports to the appropriate sales manager on all trips made, including observed opportunities, recommendations, and actions additional contact information to be include on the report.
Assist in the introduction of new products.
Work on special projects as directed by his/her supervisor.
Engineering Level Customer Technical Support (as requested).
Provide technical and system level product expertise to address product deployment cases when required by the technical support escalation process.
Travel to installation sites as needed to perform product and system troubleshooting and remediate field deployment issues (as-needed, less than 30%).
Create technical documentation for support staff and end users (as- needed).
Minimum Skill Sets and CompetenciesHigh School diploma required.
2-year degree preferred.
Some hands-on, a strategic thinker with ambition to become an interface between sales, customer, ad also backoffice, production, service, product management and R&D.
Knowledge/experience with measurement equipment.
Leak detection monitoring preferred.
Some knowledge about electronics, telecommunication, measuring technology, possibly coming from a utility.
The right person with very high communication, work ethic, and also technical / technology skills, will be trained.
Strong verbal and written communication skills regarding technical subject matter.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, Zoom.
Strong confidence in delivering presentation virtually and in person.
Solid organizational skills.
Strong customer/end user empathy.
Works well with teams or in a team environment.
Ability to work independently with limited direction.
After initially trained.
Ability to understand and learn application software.
Strong ability to multi-task.
Successful candidate will possess the ability and experience to interface with Engineering leadership, Senior Development Engineers, Application Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technical Support personnel.
Aptitude to develop a comprehensive understanding of the design and deployment of products (will be trained.
Within the first six months, possible trip to Germany to learn products).
