They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with other managers on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization's management and its employees.
Individual also supervises secretarial staff while managing day to day office activities.
Plan and coordinate an organization's workforce to best use employees' talents.
Link an organization's management with its employees.
Administer and oversee employee benefit programs.
Serve as a consultant to advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and harassment, mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures.
Coordinate and supervise the work of support staff.
Oversee an organization's recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes.
Coordinate and schedule training programs for individual employees or companywide training.
Participates in Union negotiations to research, evaluate and develop employee compensation packages.
Administers, negotiates and reviews with insurance brokers for Property and Liability, Vehicle and Workman's Compensation Insurances.
Process claims, maintain records and renew coverage's.
Process Bi-Weekly Payroll.
Provide telephone support in absence of secretary.
Coordinate and participate in Safety Committee meetings.
Maintains Authority's Code of Rules and Regulations.
Responsible for drafting monthly board meeting minutes.
Other task as assigned by General Manager.
Works under the Supervision of the General Manager.
Supervises secretarial staff.
Associates degree is preferred in Human Resources and/or related subject such as Business Management.
However, the Authority will consider a combination of college education and 5 years experience as a supervisor.
Individual must have current PA Notary Commission or willing to acquire within One (1) year.
Must have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
Must have Knowledge of human resources practice and policies.
The ability to speak English language.
Thorough knowledge and use of Office Word and Excel programs.
Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy and tack when dealing with employees or the general public.
The majority of time is spent in an office setting.
